My Progress

Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K. I will be taking on 50km throughout May and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis and better access to treatments!

There are over 150,000 people in the UK living with MS and I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

You can now support this work in the UK and around the World because The May 50K supports the MS Society UK and the MS International Federation. I’ve accepted the challenge to change lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge.

Thank you so much!

My Updates

Day 31

Wee 3m round the bridges today - last day and away to give blood so taking it easy.

So taken aback with everyone’s generosity - thanks to everyone 👏

Day 30

Midday, roasting, and decided to go up the main road to Heiton and back in the old railway, then down bypass for a run, just short of 6m. 🥵 it was boiling - not sure it was one of my best ideas! Anyway I made it and that’s me way above target in kms done for May 🏃‍♀️

Day 29

Massive 10m today - great weather to be out and about - up the river Teviot 🏃‍♀️

Thank You

Just want to say a massive thank you to ALL you generous people who have donated to this worthy cause - it will help so much in raising awareness and for research.
'Dave the Rave' unfortunately is still in Kelso Hospital (been 6 months now) - everything takes time organising carers, etc - it's not been easy on poor Cathy either.
Thanks again - from the bottom of my heart x

Day 28

3m round the bridges again of Kelso - beautiful morning - so hot.  Nice to back in Kelso - such a gorgeous wee town to walk/run nround.  Getting near end of May so will try to get as many kms in as possible next few days.

Day 27

Run round the bridges of Kelso - 3 m round trip before heading to work after my weekend away.  Felt grand and ready for a day's work after the run - not long now until end of May - kms racking up.

Day 26

Travelling back from Bucharest.  5m only today - which is fine considering all the miles I have managed over the other days.

Day 25

Still in Bucharest- started the day with a beautiful granola dish in town then went for the mighty 8 miles round the People’s Palace building and new Cathedral - Palace - it is so vast! Been reading about the Communist Leader and his wife who were shot by firing squad 😳. Will defo come back here.

Day 24

Another beautiful walk round Bucharest . It is so hot ☀️☀️. 12km to add though - getting the miles in 🚶‍♀️

Day 23

A day sightseeing in Bucharest. What a nice city, lots of nice people. Beautiful hotel - Residence Villa Barrio ❤️ 5m round Bucharest - in the bag 🚶‍♀️

Day 22

8m - round the Teviot and then round to Sainsbo for a cracking morning out and about - sooooo warm - off to Bucharest tomorrow so I’ll get plenty walking being a tourist round the City - should be a good trip with plenty to see 🇷🇴✈️😎

Day 21

Run round the bridges this morning before work. 3m into the bag. Came out with just a top on but had to retreat to get my running jacket as started to rain as I left the house - that always happens 🌧️🌧️. Anyway didn’t get a soaking - it was nice and fresh on the face!

Day 20

Day of Rest - Wedding Anniversary so treated myself to a day off the 🏃‍♀️. 17years of wedded bliss ❤️

Day 19

4.7m this morning - up to opening of old railway, down the new bridge, along through town at Shedden, over old bridge, then right along round Springwood Park, through Caravan Park, then up hill onto old railway and on the straight back home!  All before work. Nice wee run and fresh for the day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 18

Quick trek round the bridges of Kelso - before work - nice morning - shame I have to go to work though!!  3m into the bag.

Day 17 pickie

I look like I’ve got a fox behind me with that ponytail 🤣🏃‍♀️

Day 17

Nice early run up old railway to Roxburgh, through the village then up past Sunlaws into Heiton. Left at top of Heiton back down onto old railway, back to Kelso, down bypass then in at Spylaw Road back to house 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ 7m into the bag 🙂

Day 16

Late today - dusty this morning so had to postpone things to this afternoon!
Up railway and down then to the Teviot, along and out at Springwood where there is a Vintage event going on. Into Kelso Square then back round Springwood and up through woods home.
Shorts on the day as was warm. It’s to rain soon so back just in time.
Another 8kms into the bag though! 👏👏

Day 15 (nearly forgot to post)

A wee 3m the day……….nothing more interesting to say really 🤣

Halfway Mark

Things going great - sponsorship has been amazing - there are so many kind people out there - thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️
My step-father didn’t deserve what he’s been dealt and we are trying to raise funds to help research to stop others having to go through the horrible MS symptoms.
I’ve got the second half of the month to go - I’ll pile in as many miles as I can. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 14

Day 14

Early morning as had to drop car off for MOT at garage so up Teviot. So peaceful apart from the birds - bliss.
Enjoying all the running this month - gives you time to reflect on things 🤔🏃‍♀️

Day 13

Well it was an early start before work with a cold, wet run this morning out round the bridges of Kelso. Another 3m bagged so all good.

Thanks soooooo much to everyone - you have all been very generous to say the least. It means a lot - you know who you all are. 🥰

Day 12

Up early and was only going to do a couple miles but just love it at this time of morning down at the river. Beautiful! 6m bagged! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 11

Early 3m up railway track and through Springwood. Getting the kms in now! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 10

Beautiful morning - up early and away up old railway line, up through Sunlaws and Heiton, left at top of Heiton back down onto old railway onto the straight back home. 6m into the bag 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 9

Raining today so it was a quick 3m round town 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 8

Up to Heiton, down past Ladyrig, left along onto Morebattle road, down past Lloyd Ltd, left down to roundabout and up bypass. 6.5m banged. I’m as red as the tee-shirt - it was roastin☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 7

3m round Kelso today before work. Beautiful morning.

Day 6

Early run this morning up the old railway to Roxburgh Viaduct then up through Heiton to Ladyrig turnoff, turn left through fields back down onto railway then back along old railway to Wallaceneuk Farm, down bypass and back in Splylaw - 6m bagged! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Day 5

Out running in the morning - was a cold one!  Down the new bridge over the old bridge and up through Springwood Caravan Park - wow it’s just beautiful.  Then off to work for 8 am 🤣.

Day 4

Early morning run today followed by a walk tonight down through Caravan park - beautiful outside. Thanks again for the donations. What a phenomenal amount of money we have raised!  👏

Day 3

Up the railway track today - beautiful!

100k in May 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Today’s the Day - 1st of May

Thanks again to EVERYONE who has donated - it’s very kind and generous but it’s to help a worthy cause.  MS can be cruel and it’s certainly that to David (step-father). He’s still in hospital, stripped of his mobility. He was always a very active person, but this cruel disease has taken all this away.
The 100k challenge starts today, throughout the month of May. Bring it on….🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

100k update

Well I’ve been getting the miles in, in preparation for the May challenge. I can’t thank all the people enough who have donated so far - it is very kind and generous - each and every one of you. Every little helps in seeking a cure for these horrible diseases. ‘Dave the Rave’, my step-father asked me what day I was doing the challenge, to which I had to tell him I’m not superhuman, I’ll be doing it over the whole month of May, not just on one day! 🤣
Thanks again to everyone 👏👏

Why I am doing this challenge.

My step-father, David, was diagnosed with MS later on in life and is struggling now with his mobility and general day to day life. I’ve signed up to this challenge to be able to help the MS Society in their research to combat this horrible disease. Any donation is appreciated.
