Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K. I will be taking on 50km throughout May and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis and better access to treatments!

There are over 150,000 people in the UK living with MS and I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

You can now support this work in the UK and around the World because The May 50K supports the MS Society UK and the MS International Federation. I’ve accepted the challenge to change lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge.

Thank you so much!

Two walks, 8km total

Day 21, 10 days to go.

I walked from Two Hedges Road to Leisure@cheltenham this afternoon, walking along Evesham Road by the side of the new cycle path. I then went along Tommy Taylor's Lane to the leisure centre where a cool down was in order (5km) 🥵. I was a little hot and sweaty to say the least and that was before our MS Society seated pilates class 😂

On the return journey I walked through Pittville Park to Evesham Road and into the racecourse where I sensibly split my walk by catching the bus back to Bishops Cleeve. I then recommenced  my walk from St. Michael's Church along Pecked Lane, over the level crossing and cut through from Keepers Mill  back to Two Hedges Road.

8km in total today.

I arrived home absolutely worn out having had migraine aura en route, with two bleeding toes very achy arms and legs..... A shower helped, the fatigue has well and truly kicked in. I think a second (and possibly even third) application of biofreeze may be in order by the time the evening is over.

An additional 5k today

I walked home from an appointment at The Wilson Health Centre this afternoon, through Prestbury along the A4632 into Southam and along New Road into Woodmancote clocking up an additional 5k.
I also gained an extra sponsor from the Health Centre too!

I've done it!

I've only gone and done it 😁 I have completed the 50K with 12 days to go until the end of the month.
I haven't reached my fundraising target yet so I will keep going to see if it helps raise some more much needed money  for the MS Society.

Another 1K

I have been struggling after a crazy weekend racking up 11K over the course of two days. Yesterday morning I also had a great session with the Gloucester Adaptive Skiing group on the dry slope. All this activity has culminated in lots of fatigue, aching muscles, joints and some twingey nerves.

I have been doing self care with lots of rest, applying plenty of biofreeze and taking epsom salt baths. Today I went to one of our local MS Group coffee mornings met up with some friends, and a few new faces. These meet ups always give me a boost

Evening wander

I had a lovely ride at Cotswold RDA on Friday lunchtime on the gorgeous Foxy - he is such a beautiful boy with tons of personality, he can be quite cheeky. He is very fond of jumping and often takes short cuts in the arena to go over poles rather than waiting until we are supposed to! I gained almost 3,000 steps whilst at CRDA, but as most were whilst riding they don't count towards my challenge.

Once the afternoon's rain had passed I went for a walk in the evening around Woodmancote to add to my May 50K total. It was only supposed to be a short stroll, but I ended up walking up along Stockwell Lane onto Post Office Lane and along the B4632 past the Rising Sun and then down the public footpath across the fields onto Gambles Lane and home. It was a lovely but much longer walk than anticipated but the views were definitely worth it.

A walk to Cleevelands Surgery this afternoon

I was going for a blood test today and chose to walk to the surgery as it was nice sunny afternoon. No deers today but lots of lovely birdsong filling the air especially on the tree line path linking Finlay Way and the A435.
It was a nice way to discover another little part of the village and clock up some more Kms for the challenge

Close encounter with a deer 🦌

I'm now over halfway on my challenge to walk 50km in May!

On my walk into the village this lunchtime a deer ran across the road in front of me and into a garden on the other side 😀 An unexpected and lovely bonus to the lovely weather and birdsong.

In the evening after a great dinner, we had a nice walk from the Black Bear to Tewkesbury Abbey to listen to the Music of Coldplay by Candlelight. The last km of the day was the return walk back to the car.

A beautiful walk home this lunchtime

I walked home from my happy place - a riding lesson at Cotswold RDA - across the race course and fields back to Woodmancote.

The sun was shining, birds were singing and I walked past fields full of ponies, horses and wild flowers with the beautiful backdrop of Cleeve Hill.

All of which made getting hot and a little sweaty whilst clocking some extra kilometres towards my total worth it 😀
