From us to you, hello!

This May, Barlounge as a team are taking on The May 50K with our own twist! 

Walking 2500km we will be leaving our limits behind to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

With over 130,000 people in the UK living with MS, this number increased with my own diagnosis at the beginning of April, fuelling the need not only from a personal standpoint, but a global one, to increase the life changing research that happens each day. 

With a competitive nature driving a team that never shy’s away from a challenge, walking the distance from Chester to Lisbon, Portugal (a favourite for wine on a personal note!) is no easy feat!

Well didn’t we smash that out of the park! 2500km done with days to spare and the numbers still rolling in! With half the team still owing numbers it’s now a game of just how high we can go! 

Keep your eyes peeled, Barlounge has never been one to just hit targets…we smash them! 


1 week to go!

Well here we go, the final week and what a start it is! 

With some incredible generosity we have smashed the £500 goal. Words cannot describe how grateful I am, for the support and love not just in support of me but for the support of the thousands living with MS not just in the UK but worldwide. 

With the MS society launching the MS appeal in 2015 the goal was to raise £100 million, with it now in its final year every penny leads the groundbreaking research such as the Octopus trial (nothing to do with the creatures-I checked!). A revolutionary trial that could deliver life saving treatments three times faster for those living with progressive MS. 

With this final week upon us, and the team having just past 2000KM, the end of this challenge is in sight but the journey still continues.

Nearly there!

With just over a week away, the team are racing to get the KM’s in! With 2000km just around the corner, and that £500 goal in touching distance and I am blown away but the kindness and generosity from everyone. 

So far the team have walked from Barlounge to Paris and then onto Champagne, Bordeaux, Porto and now heading down to Lisbon. 

It’s the last push on all fronts and again, I want to say thank you for all the support and kindness across these few weeks. My heart is full.

The numbers are coming in

Hello! 

Here we go, the first lot of numbers are coming through from the team following a busy but beautiful bank holiday weekend! With a busy terrace keeping them running about, and the sun shining on those that were off. Between 4 team a massive 123km have been logged already!

Keep you eyes peeled from the number increasing across the day and more numbers come in.

Here we go!

Today is the day, the start of our journey from here to Portugal (virtually unfortunately) 

With 2500km in aid of MS ahead of us, we start today with  an incredible £200 already raised and the sun out shining. 

With the team ready and raring to go, the totals of KM will be collected and uploaded on Sunday and the leaderboard in house updated for some healthy competition!
