For my Dad 🧡
I'm taking on The May 50k challenge, by running 50k throughout May, in memory of my Dad. As some of you may or may not be aware but I lost my Dad nearly two years ago now.
My Dad lived with Multiple Sclerosis for most of my life, diagnosed when I was just 2 years old. It is a tough and heartbreaking disease that impacts each person in different ways.
In my Dad’s case his MS slowly deteriorated his health over the years and eventually deteriorate his mobility, becoming wheelchair bound when I was a teenager, in the end his body was no longer able to fight the continuous infections and sadly we lost him August 2023 but he put up a real big fight for over a year! My whole life I have watched the strength and resilience it took my Dad to face the pains and challenges of MS everyday, never complaining or moaning and still supporting me, my brother and mum as much as he possibly could.
This challenge is a way for me to honour his memory but also raise some awareness about this disease and the MS Society’s work to fund research and provide support for those living with MS and their families.
