Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K. I will be taking on 50km throughout May and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis and better access to treatments!

There are over 150,000 people in the UK living with MS and I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

You can now support this work in the UK and around the World because The May 50K supports the MS Society UK and the MS International Federation. I’ve accepted the challenge to change lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge.

Thank you so much!

My Updates

Monday morning!!! The day after!!

It’s not yet 9am…. But already I have mixed feelings…. A day of rest (bliss) vs a day with f not going to’ that’ treadmill!!!!   Withdrawal symptoms have started already !!! 😆.   I’m so so pleased and feel honoured to have such wonderful people around me … for your support in every/any form. Is go as far to say, I really couldn’t have finished this without you. ❤️❤️.   🏃💪🏻

Last one…done!!

Final 5km done!!!  Phew. Complete!!!

One more to go!!

I feel so good I signed up for this, along with “OMG, what an idiot!”  Another 5km done b only one more run to go tomorrow. Your support has been amazing and means so much to me. Thank you so so much. Xxxxxuntil tomorrow… maybe a red-faced finishers photo??!!

May 29, 22nd run

OMG. 34 mins!!!!!! 5km. I’m gonna be kinda sad when this is over!!! 🏃👍🏻

May 28, 21st run

It’s true… rest days are needed. After a “day off” yesterday back to it with full force and achieved another PB on 5km!! Hot, sweaty as always but feeling good!! 🏃💪🏻

May 26, 20th run

Hot hot hot!!!
Chipped a very sweaty 5km. Very quiet in gym today so had air con all to myself!! 🥵😂
🏃

May 25, 19th run

Did just over 5km as treadmill bizarrely stopped at 3.5km so I restarted and did another 1.6 just to make sure I covered the distance!!!
Glad there’s air con in the gym 🥵 🏃💪🏻

May 24, 18th run

Sweaty in gym today!!! But another 5km done!!! Feeling good. 🏃💪🏻

May 23, 17th run

5km with new trainers. Steady 38 mins but ankle stopped hurting 👍🏻. Ready for that finish line!!! 🏃💪🏻

May 22, 17th run

Swollen ankle after yesterday, so a slow 5km today…. But hey, who’s counting the minutes!!… it’s the miles that count!!   Hope you enjoy the sunshine 🌞 🏃💪🏻

May 21. 16th run

After a “rest” day yesterday, made up the km today felt good. Feels great being over the 100km marker!!… and on track to finish the challenge. 🏃💪🏻

May 19, 15th run

5km again tonight. Kept speed steady but still doing the walk/run.

May17, 14th run

A very very sweaty run today. Concentrated on km rather than time. So I’m happy with 7km!! 🏃💪🏻

May 16, 13th run

Fastest yet!! 5km 36.52. Going home to collapse now!! 😆🏃🏃💪🏻

May 15, 12th run

Hard but worth it 11km. Some walk, some jog, some an actual run… but definitely no stopping !!! 🏃💪🏻💪🏻

May 14, 11th run

Horrible cold, so had yesterday off. Back to it today and smashed it!! PB on this challenge 37:50!! 🏃💪🏻💪🏻

May 12, 10th run

Missed pb by seconds!!… still a healthy 37 min 5 km!! 🏃💪🏻

May 11, 9th run

Another 5.km. Feeling “strong” again today, so another minute knocked off best May Challenge time. 37 minutes!! 🏃💪🏻

May 10, 8th run

After a gorgeous (but tiring!) day out yesterday, missed the run!!! Back on it today.  7km to “claw” back those missed miles!!!

May 8, 7th run

Yea!! Another 5km. Slower today as it followed an hour PT session for arms!!!

But still did it!!! 🏃💪🏻😊

May 7, 6th run

Another 5km 38 mins (just over!)  chipping away at mileage and times!! 🏃💪🏻

May 6, 5th run

Another 2 mins off 5km time. Whoop whoop. 🏃💪🏻

Day 4

Another “strong” 10km

400m walk on incline followed by 600 m flat jog.
No stopping! Repeat until 10km done.
6 minutes knocked off training time!!🏃💪🏻👍🏻😊

Day 3

Another  5km. Walk/jog. Chipping away towards the target!! 🏃💪🏻 1min 20 sec off last 5km time. Whoop whoop!!

10% done!!

Great start to challenge!!
10km yesterday, 5km today.
Feeling strong! 🏃

First May = First 10km

Yeah! First 10 km done!!
And knocked 2 mins off my 10 km training run time… bonus!!!

Only 140 km left to go 🏃☺️

Re-set

Hi. As most of you know, I’m not the most “IT” person ever!!… but I’ve tried to delete my training runs to re-set to nil for 1st May.
Can hopefully then get a true running (lol) total of km completed in the month of May. 👍🏻

Thank you

A huge thank you. Please know how much I appreciate your support in sponsoring me for this.
150 km may not seem far in a month; but this is an epic challenge for me after my own MS diagnosis. You believing in me really makes a BIG difference.
With your kindness, and the MS Society’s hard work, we WILL be that step closer to leaving MS behind.
I love you all. Thank you ❤️

First 10km!!!

Longest treadmill walk/run.
Very sweaty and slightly red!…. Nothing glamorous about this running malarkey!!!

Nearly 1st May 😊

Training going ok

Did another 6km walk/jog treadmill today.
Bit wobbly today but no falls (thank goodness).
Food time now!

Feeling better

After a couple of days with crippling headache and not keeping anything down… returned to gym today. Feeling better.

Made up the miles!!! 1km walk followed by 1km jog… repeat until 8km done. Bang on 72 minutes. I’m pleased with that. Righty.., shower, food, bed!! 😊

Gym update

Upped mileage on treadmill! to 3km today. Combination of walk and jog. Only 2 minor wobbles with poor balance… so in all, I call that a win!!
Here’s to 4km tomorrow.
I’m tracking “training” mileage for April, but the 150km clock to ‘re-set’ for May. x

One day in…

Thank you so much for helping me reach the £ target. Of course, that’s solely down to your generosity.
Yesterday I went to gym and walked 1km and slow jogged another.
I will be aiming for 5km a day for each day in May. So taking next couple of weeks to build distance up!  Some may be jogging, some may be walking… but I’ll do it!!
I’ve raised my target to £250 and hope to reach that 🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️❤️

Thank you. You made me cry!!!

Thank you so so much for all your kind words…and generosity. I seriously can’t believe I was doubting myself… but with your amazing support… I know I can do this.

Yes… hold me to account…. but know I WILL do this.

My “legs day” at the gym will be paid off…especially those squats!!

Again… thank you so so much.
