My Story…

My journey with MS started during the first UK lockdown in 2020. I was suffering with chronic fatigue and dizziness, which resulted in numerous doctor’s calls and hospital visits. 

Eventually after 2 years with no improvement or answers, it was agreed that I would need an urgent MRI scan to see what was going on in my brain. 

February 2022 I got the dreaded call… “Tayler, I’m so sorry, you have Multiple Sclerosis”. The memory of this call still sends shivers through my body and I can still hear the voice of the doctor delivering the news. I remember saying to myself “This can’t be happening, I’m young, fit & healthy. Have I done this to myself?”. The news was absolutely devastating and completely turned my life upside down.

Being diagnosed and living with a chronic, incurable disease certainly is a humbling experience. I’m not alone in my journey though. There are over 130,000 people in the UK living with MS! 

Each persons MS looks different, has different symptoms and has different severities. Numbness, tingling, trigeminal neuralgia, loss of sight (optic neuritis), fatigue, brain fog and loss of mobility are just some of the symptoms I have personally had to deal with, along with the mental strain these cause. Each day varies and you never know what you’re going to get… it’s an unpredictable little bugger! 

However there is light at the end of the tunnel! With the help and support of family, friends, medical teams and MS charities like the MS Society and a the MS International Federation, it allows us MS Worriers to live as normal life as possible and also gives us hope for a brighter future.
