Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K. I will be taking on 50km throughout May and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis and better access to treatments!

There are over 150,000 people in the UK living with MS and I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

You can now support this work in the UK and around the World because The May 50K supports the MS Society UK and the MS International Federation. I’ve accepted the challenge to change lives.

Please make a donation to support my challenge.

Thank you so much!

My Updates

After the BH weekend

Hi All,
Hope you had a great Bank Holiday weekend. I managed to run 20km this weekend and in true competitive style Neil is 2km ahead of me! But this keeps the goal alive and who doesn't like a bit of competition.

I am debating if a 5km tonight is a good thing or to simply rest for the run with Pocklington Runners on Wednesday?

Strava will update you.

Thank you for your ongoing support it means a lot to me and all of those who will benefit from your generosity.

It's all being to hurt - Training Hurts

Training update: I’ve managed 20km so far this week (walk & running), which feels like real progress. I’m definitely noticing though that running 10km in one go is starting to hurt, so it’s been a useful reminder to listen to my body. Big, single runs might not always be the answer, and “little and very often” may end up being the winning strategy. Shorter, more frequent runs still get the kilometres done, just in a more sustainable way.

There’s still plenty to do, but each week is building confidence. Thank you to everyone supporting, donating, and cheering this challenge on — it genuinely helps keep me moving.

Team Work Makes the Dream Work!

I started this challenge with a goal of raising £250… and honestly, I’ve been completely blown away by the support. Thanks to your generosity and encouragement, I’ve now increased my target twice — and I’m sitting at a target of £2,500!

What’s made this even more special is that people haven’t just donated — they’ve joined the challenge alongside me. My amazing husband has jumped in too. His support during my first non‑stop 10km run was hugely appreciated — he’s quite a bit faster than me, but that actually made him the perfect pacer and helped me push through.

My son and daughter have also signed up to take on The May 50K as “Two Speeds, One Team”, and they’re absolutely smashing it in their own way. If you’re able, please consider supporting their efforts towards the challenge as well.

With just 11 days to go until the training turns into real kilometres, the motivation is high and the gratitude is huge. Thank you to everyone who’s supported so far — it truly means more than I can say.

My MS - my request.

In May 2023, I was diagnosed with MS. I manage a lot through dietary changes, but I’m also incredibly grateful for the medical treatments available today—treatments my Auntie never had when she lived with MS.

This year, I’m taking on The May 50K to help change the future of MS. I’ve set myself a big personal challenge: jogging 100km throughout May to raise money for vital research, in the hope that one day we can truly leave MS behind.

I would be so grateful for your support—every donation, share, and message genuinely helps.

Training has officially begun (April is nearly here!), and right now I can manage 5k by “Jeffing”. My goal is to jog the full 100km without walking, and I’m determined to get there.

Thank you for backing me, believing in me, and helping push MS research forward
